BUCCHIANICO

In the course of the day of its beginning women dressed in traditional clothes pass by in procession with baskets adornes with flowers, followed by carts also adorned with flowers. The group comes from the country and goes towards the old centre reminding of the ceremonies of the meeting between the Sergentiere (with ereditary right) and the Bandarese (an ordinary citizen selected for public charges).

In the morning of May 25th the Sergentiere and the Banderese are players of medioeval ceremonies with horses recieving the Sacred Sword, the Rings, the Flag and the Mayor and Vicar horses.
The ceremonies are followed by dances ("Dances of the Banderese"), such as the "Ciammaichella".
