The
procession of the Dama Castellana involves 500 partecipants dressed
in Renaissance costumes representing the 12 town districts, accompanied
by drummers, flag-jugglers, dancers and Renaissance music.
In
the game proper the two finalist districts compete. The losing
party will have to push a cart where the winners are mounted and
bring them to the Castle. The keys of the town, which will have
been blessed in the Cathedral the previous day, will be then consigned
to the winners.
