This game, called "Disfida con l'arco" (Bow Challenge) dates back to 1414, when the Podestà Jacopo degli Albizi subdivided the population of this village in two: one was the Santo Stefano population and lived upside of the Church; the other was the San Giovanni population and lived South of the Church.

Nowaday each of them is formed of four Rioni (districts), which compete one against the other with bows.
